some notes I've taken down =p

I'm trying to organize my stuff.
I found some notes I took down during insightful encounters.

from the Reflections of my PGTB unitmates on the Way of the Cross
- difference of being joyful and being happy (Andoy)
One becomes joyful when he decides to carry his cross. Even if it could be painful, you are at peace.

- the story of the Velveteen rabbit (Joy)
There is beauty in being worn out. One nice song, she can relate with is "Drive" by Incubus.

-the strength of women (Aivs)
Women have inner strength. Even if they may weep or cry, they endure many things for love..a good example is a mother's love. We look after another.

-the love of God is so great (Maits)

- fear and hope - nice fitting song: "Tomorrow" by U2

Notes from talk of Fr. Manoling in the Lenten Recollection at MTQ
Jn: "It is finished"
Lk. "Into your hands...
Mk & Mt.: "Eloi, Eloi..." - "Lord, why have you forsaken me?
In pain, but in full trust.

In the bible, it says that if someone hits you on one cheek, turn and give the other cheek. This does not mean that you should let people abuse you. According to Fr. Manoling, when you turn the other cheek it means that you stop the humiliation done unto you. Imagine this, if for example someone slaps you (and in olden times slaps are done using the opposite side of your palm, the one with the knuckles touches the face) and you turn the other cheek, he can't slap you again because if he does, he won't be using his knuckles anymore. [hehe mukhang magulo but it's something like that]

Anyways, I have to do lots of work already. I just wanted to write down some notes I've stumbled upon so that I won't forget it because I think it's good to learn these things and to share insights. =p
